Santarcangelo Of Latham Elected Clarkson University Alumni Second Vice President

Michael Santarcangelo of Latham, N.Y., policy and compliance engineer of the New York State Public Service Commission, was recently elected the 1999-2000 second vice president of the Alumni Association at Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York, where he is also a member of the Alumni Board of Governors.

Santarcangelo earned his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering in 1973. After attending engineer officer school in 1974, he joined the New York State Public Service Commission. Since then, he has held increasingly responsible positions with the Commission and currently serves as the principle policy and compliance engineer. As an Army ROTC graduate, he has continued his army commitment serving in the Army Reserve, and is currently a colonel.

Since graduation, Santarcangelo has always found time for his alma mater. He assisted in the development of the Capital District Alumni Chapter and served as its president. He also planned and organized a variety of regional alumni activities for the Capital District Chapter.

Santarcangelo and his wife, Kathleen, reside in Latham.

Clarkson University is an independent institution located in northern New York, in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. The University has 2,749 graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in programs in its schools of Business, Engineering, Liberal Arts, and Science, and its Interdisciplinary Engineering and Management program.
