Cornett Of Potsdam Is New Director Of Engineering & Management At Clarkson University
Mark J. Cornett of Potsdam has been appointed the director of Clarkson University's Interdisciplinary Engineering and Management (E&M) Program, effective January 1, 1999.
In the past, Cornett has served Clarkson in many capacities, including as a teacher in the School of Business, associate dean of the Graduate School, associate director of the Graduate Professional Programs, and as director of the Leadership Challenge Program.
"Under his leadership I look forward to the continued success and growth of the E&M Program," said Vice President for Academic Affairs Anthony G. Collins. "We are fortunate to be able to continue to benefit from Mark's expert instructional skills, as well as his industry experience and contacts, as he assumes this key leadership role."
Cornett graduated from the E&M program and received his MBA from Northeastern University. Prior to joining Clarkson he worked at Hewlett-Packard Company for about a decade in their sales operation. Since he has been at Clarkson he has received many awards, including the 1992 Outstanding Teacher Award, Commendable Leadership Award, and Outstanding Advisor Award.
