Clarkson University’s Space Grant Program has adopted Norwood-Norfolk Junior-Senior High School as its adopted school for the 1998-99 school year. Program Administrator Dr. Dana M. Barry recently presented a certificate of participation to Norwood-Norfolk Principal James Short and presented the school’s science faculty with software, NASA posters from Earth’s observing systems and other educational resources. The “Adopt a School” Project assists and enhances science and space-related education to qualified students to further pursue these fields after high school. Adopted schools receive links on the Internet, NASA handouts and other educational resources, guest speakers from Clarkson, tours, workshops and more. Professor Daniel T. Valentine is director of the program.
