James Manaro Named New Clarkson Vp For Business And Financial Affairs
Potsdam, N.Y. -- James Manaro has been named vice president for business and financial affairs at Clarkson University. Manaro, who is currently vice president for finance and treasurer at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pa., will assume the Clarkson position on August 1.
Clarkson Senior Vice President for Business and Financial Affairs Bruce T.H. Knill, who has been at Clarkson for the past 12 years, will retire.
Over the past decade, Bruce Knill has successfully steered Clarkson through some challenging financial times, said Clarkson President Denny Brown. "Due to his keen fiscal sense, Clarkson is well-positioned financially as we move into a new century.
While we'll miss Bruce, Jim Manaro is very well-suited to take on this challenging position. His 24 years of experience in higher education and government administration and finance will certainly benefit the University. Manaro also looks forward to his duties at Clarkson. "This is a terrific opportunity to work at such a prestigious institution as Clarkson University," he said.
Manaro's wife, Rory, is currently the director of development and community relations for the Red Cross of Lehigh Valley. Their daughter, Elaine, will be a senior at University of Delaware and is currently interning in animal sciences in Virginia. Their son, Christopher, is in eighth grade and is an avid soccer and lacrosse player.
