Professor Susan E. Powers Of Potsdam Receives Clarkson University's John W. Graham Faculty Research Award

POTSDAM, N.Y. – Clarkson University Civil and Environmental Engineering Professor Susan E. Powers of Potsdam was recently awarded the John W. Graham Jr. Faculty Research Award. This $1,500 research account is presented annually to "a faculty member who has shown promise in engineering, management, liberal studies or scientific research."
Powers, whose interests include the physical and chemical principles which affect the transport and treatment of pollutants, has written numerous articles for various professional journals and has presented her findings at conferences all over the United States.
Powers graduated from Clarkson in 1983 with a bachelor's in chemical engineering, and received her master's in civil and environmental engineering from Clarkson in 1985. From 1985-87, she served as project engineer at Engineering-Science in Liverpool, N.Y. She returned to Clarkson in 1992 after four years at the University of Michigan, where she received her Ph.D. in environmental engineering and served as a research assistant and lecturer.
