Niagara Mohawk To Present Ice Storm '98 Power Restoration Seminar To Clarkson Students
Potsdam, N.Y. – Clarkson University Electrical and Computer Engineering students in a seminar next week will benefit from Niagara Mohawk's experience in Ice Storm '98. John A. Porteous, Niagara Mohawk supervisor of Electric Sales and Service, and Joseph R. Godlewski, manager of System Electric Operations, will present "Ice Storm 1998: Power Restoration" on Tuesday, April 7, at 4:00 p.m. in Room 311 of Clarkson's Science Center. Refreshments will be served at 3:30.
Porteous and Godlewski will discuss the sequence of events leading up to the massive power outage and then describe how the system was restored in the Niagara Mohawk service territory and St. Lawrence County. A video will also be presented.
