Clarkson Wins Admissions Publications Awards

Potsdam, N.Y. – Three student recruiting publications produced by the Clarkson University Office of University Communications have won national recognition in the 13th Annual Admissions Advertising Awards competition.
The University won a silver award for the search piece A Campus Full of Life, and merit awards for the comprehensive Clarkson University Viewbook and the brochure Come Visit Clarkson. The contest is sponsored by Admissions Marketing Report, the national newspaper of admissions marketing based in Atlanta, Georgia.
The competition evaluated more than 1,700 entries submitted in a variety of categories by colleges and universities from across the country. Institutions were grouped by size, with Clarkson competing against other schools having between 2,000 and 4,999 students. Submissions were judged by an expert panel for writing and design in terms of "production standards, creativity, and professionalism."
The Clarkson pieces were written by Stephen Hopkins, University editor and director of Publications, and designed by Richard Austin, University designer. The Publication staff also includes Susan Cutler, editorial assistant, and Claudette VanEss, publications specialist.
