Clarkson Professor Mills Serving As Visiting Professor In Denmark
Dr. John W. Mills, professor of biology at Clarkson University, has received a grant from the Danish Research Council to serve as visiting professor at the August Krogh Institute in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Mills, a resident of Saranac Lake, is working in the Department of Biological Chemistry with Dr. Else Hoffman. They are conducting research on cell volume control mechanisms in tumor cells.
This is Mills' third venture to Europe. He served as a visiting professor at the Krogh Institute in November of 1994. Thirteen years earlier, in 1981, he was a visiting scientist at the University of Munich in what was then West Germany.
Mills has been at Clarkson since 1991 and holds a B.S. in zoology from the University of Rhode Island and a Ph.D. in biology from Brown University.
