"Green IT and Sustainable Development for Rural Communities"

In the 21st Century Information and Communications Technology will radically transform the way we live and work, in every part of the world. At the same time, we are facing immense challenges for resource availability and environmental damage as we head to a global population of more than 7 billion by 2020. These two long-term trends will impact rural areas just as they will the majority of the world's population that live in urban centers. This talk will focus on a few important aspects of green IT and what that could mean for economic development in the rural communities of the North Country.
