All Undergraduate Students, Faculty, Graduate Students, and High School Students are Invited to the Second Annual Saint Lawrence Valley Mathematics Symposium, an Undergraduate Mathematics Conference Serving Students and Faculty from All Regions, Especially Those From Northern New York and Adjacent Regions of Canada. |
What: Opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students to present their research and/or projects to students and faculty, with a focus on presenting to an undergraduate audience. All presentations are to be directed at an undergraduate level. All student presentations will be 20 minutes in length (including questions).
Who: All undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty in the mathematical sciences, including pure and applied mathematics, mathematics education, statistics, and computational science and engineering. We encourage any students with an interest in mathematics to come, present, and see what kinds of projects and research other students in the region are doing.
When: February 19—20, 2010
Beginning at 6:45 p.m. on Friday, February 19, 2010,
Ending at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2010.
Events: Friday night—Keynote address, Dr. Jackie Jensen of Sam Houston
State University (refreshments provided), and Math Jeopardy!
Saturday—Student presentations in the morning and afternoon,
lunch provided free of charge for all participants, and a panel discussion
on graduate programs in the mathematical sciences.
