Dr. LaFleur teaches courses in design of propulsion systems, ME and AE laboratory, and design in the thermo-fluid branch. Course topics are directed toward engineering design using governing equations to perform design and design sensitivity. Dr. LaFleur draws from evolutionary design of low-pressure loss and low-heat transfer boundaries. Dr. LaFleur's current research focus is in the area of gas turbine design both in the power and propulsion arenas. These research projects have been supported by NSF, DARPA/ONR, NYSERDA, Pratt and Whitney, SCERDC/DOE and CAMP at Clarkson University. Dr. LaFleur's projects have been a team effort between undergraduate fellows, graduate assistants, professor and sponsors.
Specific Topics of Interest
