Disaster in China
Message from President Tony Collins: (Sent 5/13/2008)
We are shocked and saddened as word of the tragic loss of life and great destruction in southwestern China and Sichuan Province has reached us here in Potsdam over the past 24 hours.
Our thoughts, prayers and concern are with our Chinese students and faculty, and the many, many in China affected by this great disaster.
More than 100 of our students are from China, some of them from Chengdu and Sichuan Province. While we don't know for certain at this time how any of them or their families were impacted by the earthquake, our International Student & Scholars Office is working to find out more.
If you would like to speak with a counselor or know of someone who needs counseling assistance, please call 315-268-2327 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. After hours, you may call Campus Safety & Security at 315-268-6666, who will immediately put the Counseling Center staff person on call in touch with you.
Again, our hearts go out to all those affected by this disaster.
