Pre-Frosh Summer Research Program
As an entering member of the Honors program, you have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research during the summer before your first semester. You may join a professor's research team or you may be mentored on your own individual project. The Honors Program provides room, board and a small budget for research supplies. You need to provide only your own spending money.
This five-week experience provides an excellent transition to your first semester at college. Typically, between six and 10 incoming class members choose to participate. Although the program focuses on research, time is set aside for social and recreational activities such as movies, pizza parties, volleyball leagues, field trips and more.
Students conclude each summer program by making presentations of their work at the University-wide SURE (Student Undergraduate Research Experience) conference.
