Homecoming 2009 Weekend Schedule

Join the students, alumni, parents (it is Family Weekend as well!!) and the University community as we celebrate the Clarkson Spirit!!  The weekend includes:

  • Friday, October 16
     
    • Welcome Home Happy Knight 
      4 pm to midnight
      Join your fellow Clarkson Alumi and current students in Club 99 as you swap stories of your time in Potsdam and enjoy a cold beverage. A great way to begin your weekend at Clarkson!

    • CEO Club Hosts Silent Auction
      5 pm to 9 pm

      MAKE A DIFFERENCE – Silent Auction hosted by the Clarkson CEO Club to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. All proceeds benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Come and bid on a variety of items. All for a good cause! Auction will continue on Saturday, 10/17 from 11 am to 9:30 pm.

    • Clarkson Comedy Knight
      immediately following hockey game (around 9:30 pm)
      Head over to Cheel Commons for great comedy entertainment provided by comedian Josh Sneed. Josh is quickly making his mark as one of the top young comics in the business. Most recently, Josh finished 2nd out of 100 of Comedy Central's top comedians in the Annual Stand-up Showdown, earning him a deal to record a new album on Comedy Central Records. In 2004, he performed at the Just For Laugh's Montreal Comedy Festival in the "New Faces of Comedy" group, one of the highest honors that a comedian at his level can achieve. Josh has also be seen performing in large venue theaters across the country as an opening act for the various members of "The Blue Collar Comedy Tour" and has made several appearances on "The Bob & Tom Show". Everyone is invited to share a laugh on the first night of Homecoming Weekend!

    • Note: The hockey game on Friday night is not part of the Homecoming Weekend festivities. General Admission/Standing Room tickets are $10 and will be on sale through the box office beginning Friday mornng at 10 am. If interested in attending, please call (315) 268-7750.

  • Saturday, October 17

    • CEO Club Sponsored 5k walk/run
      11 am to 1 pm: Registration - Event begins at 1:30 pm
      Registration will be in the Cheel atrium and the walk/run begins at 1:30 pm behind Cheel. Minimum donation of $15 - all proceeds go directly to finding a cure for breast cancer. Help the CEO Club reach its goal of raising $15,000 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation!

    • Oksoberfest Tailgate Party 
      11 am to 3 pm
      Clarkson University, in recognition of National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week, presents free OKSOBERFEST TAILGATE PARTY at the Bavarian Garden, left of Cheel Campus Center. Sponsored by Greek Life, ARAMARK, Campus Safety & Security, and the Counseling Center. Menu: bratwurst, German potato salad, coleslaw, hot apple cider, soda, coffee, and tea.

    • Campus Tours
      1 pm to 3 pm
      If it's been a while since you last set foot on Clarkson's campus, here's a great opportunity to see all the new places on campus and visit the ones you remember so well. Tours leave every half-hour beginning at 1 pm with the last tour at 2:30 pm. Please meet at the Kodak Lounge in Cheel Arena.

    • Dinner - ON CAMPUS OPTIONS:

    • Pep Rally
      5 pm to 7 pm
      Get pumped up for Saturday's hockey game against R.I.T. with a true tradition of college sports… a pep rally! A DJ will be on hand to keep the mood festive and Clarkson's own Pep Band and Golden Knotes will provide live music. You can also have a good laugh at the expense of our athletes as they compete for the Homecoming Tommy Award. Those who saw last year's cross country ski team win for their parody of "Men in Tights" (check it out on YouTube!) will know that this is a not-to-miss event! Come see what is going to happen this year!

    • Hockey Game
      starts at 7:30 pm

      What would a Clarkson Homecoming be without the excitement of a men's hockey game? Join current students, family and alumni as the Golden Knights take on the Tigers of R.I.T. at Cheel Arena. Don't forget your green and gold! Tickets for alumni are available online at $13 each. Unable to get tickets? Join us under the tent on Cheel lawn to watch the game on the big screen!

    • Clarkson "Knight Club"
      immediately following hockey game (around 9 pm)

      Try your luck at Monte Carlo "knight" and enter to win prizes! Live music by "The Collectables," food, refreshments and entertainment is sure to please all those who attend!

  • Sunday, October 18
     
    • "Until We Meet Again" Breakfast / Brunch
      7 am to 2 pm (pay at door)

      Before you depart, stop by Ross-Brooks Cafeteria to pick up something for breakfast and talk with friends from the past or ones you just meet over the weekend. And be sure to plan your return to Clarkson for Homecoming 2010!

    • Silent Auction Winners Table
      10 am to noon
      Stop by the Clarkson CEO table on the second floor of Cheel to find out if you won any items from the Silent Auction. You must come to the table to receive your item.
