The sisters of Delta Zeta (DZ), a national sorority with a Clarkson University chapter, are taking "green pledges" this semester as part of Delta Zeta National's "Pink Goes Green" initiative.

Delta Zeta, which is one of three sororities on Clarkson's campus, has chosen to follow through on their national's initiatives by expanding their green efforts through a personal level, a sorority level, and a campus-wide level.

The most important aspect of environmental change on Clarkson’s campus is its community. With so many students, faculty, and staff members involved in environmental groups on campus, it’s no wonder the University has advanced so quickly!

Here’s a list of environmentally friendly organizations on campus. We've even included contact information so that you can get involved!

Clarkson Sustainability Initiative (CSI) CSI is a group of students dedicated to initiating sustainable energy programs on the campus.

Clarkson University Environmental Remediation Team (CURE) CURE is Clarkson’s environmental design team. Each year, the team competes in a national design contest. In 2007, CURE won second place in the 17th annual International Environmental Design Contest held in New Mexico. 

Environmental Conservation Organization (ECO) ECO was formed to encourage awareness of environmental and human rights through a variety of methods such as Earth Day events, on and off campus projects, and more.

Environmental Policy Group The Environmental Policy Group is a group of faculty, staff and students appointed by President Tony Collins. The tasks set forth for the group are to examine our sustainability and environmental policies and practices, draft a formal declaration of commitment to environmental sustainability and stewardship for adoption by the University, and coordinate implementation of the new policies and practices. Greeks Go Green! Clarkson's Delta Zeta sorority is stepping up to the plate and getting involved in the greening of our campus by starting a "Pink Goes Green" initiative to turn greek housing eco-friendly, host events, and raise awareness on campus. Contact: PGG Chair, Francesca Merchant  merchafa@clarkson.edu

New York Water Environment Association (NYWEA) NYWEA was formed to promote interest in the environment, specifically protecting and enhancing our water resources. Contact: Michael Jahne jahnema@clarkson.edu

The Outing Club The CUOC encourages and teaches leadership skills as well as responsible treatment of the environment, and enables members to safely participate in outdoor activities. The Club sponsors and leads trips to local places of interest, including the Adirondacks and Lake Placid. The CUOC also operates a climbing wall in Congdon gym and an equipment room full of outdoor equipment that can be rented out as needed. Student Life Committee of CUSA (student government) CUSA Senate is the governing body of all clubs and organizations on campus. The CUSA Senate is responsible for working together with the Clarkson administration on all decisions that affect the student body in both Senate meetings or in one of the Senate's seven committees, which are open to any students. Sustainable Synergy
