Stephen was a self-taught computer programmer when he created his first game, Auto Jam. Stephen now has several Clarkson computer classes under his belt. "I could probably do Auto Jam in a day now," he laughs.

For John Zdanowski, it is a whole different world out there - literally. Zdanowski manages the virtual economics of Second Life, an Internet-based virtual world, where "residents" interact with one another through motional avatars.

Kyle Pulver '08
Save the Clarkson University hockey team from an evil referee using combat moves and bone saw weapons. Why bone saw weapons? "At real Clarkson hockey games, student fans build and use makeshift bone saws to celebrate Clarkson goals," explains Kyle. The game is still in development and Kyle hopes to use it to launch a career in gaming.

What would it be like if you could paint something into the world every time you wanted it? Peter Jones, a Clarkson senior, explains: "If you want to have a scooter, for example, you simply paint it in the game and ride it when you're finished."

He likes to take familiar things and add surprising and often challenging twists to his games. Take the game Farm 51™. "Instead of thinking, 'Let's make a farm simulation,' I thought 'Let's make a farm simulation, with aliens!'"
