Academic Integrity
Adjudicates matters associated with alleged violation of University regulations concerned with academic integrity.

Academic Standards
Reviews all requests for exceptions to University rules and regulations and acts for the Faculty Senate in matters regarding exceptions to graduation requirements.

Awards
Selects, from nominations provided as appropriate, the individuals chosen as recipients of the Lavinia and Frederica Clarkson prizes and the recipients of the University Distinguished Teaching Award, the Outstanding New Teacher Award, and the Outstanding Advisor Awards.

Curriculum and Academic Policy
Reviews all proposals for new degree programs, minors, and concentrations as well as major calendar changes that have impact on academic programs.

Research and Intellectual Property
Formulates, recommends, and reviews regulations and policies pertaining to research activities. Provides advice and makes recommendations with respect to the interpretation and implementation of the University Intellectual Property Policy, amendments to this Policy, and other matters in which the Director, Division of Research may seek advice.

Honorary Degrees
Solicits nominations of persons to be considered for the Award of a Clarkson honorary degree. Reviews nominees for honorary degrees, formulating a recommendation for each nominee and forwarding these recommendations to the Faculty Senate for action.

Information Technology
Serves as a focal point for faculty input concerning information technology at Clarkson. Reviews policy concerning information technology, addressing issues related to resource allocation and support services as they have impact on the instructional and research missions of the University.

Library
Serves as a focal point for faculty input concerning library collections, facilities, and services at Clarkson. Addresses issues related to resource allocation and library support services as they have impact on the instructional and research missions of the University.

Teaching Excellence
Devises and implements programs for the improvement of instruction at all levels. Assists in the mentoring of new faculty and analyzes teaching assessment to assist the faculty in assessing the quality of instruction and seeking improvements in their teaching.

Promotions
Acts in accordance with faculty policies regarding promotion as outlined in Section 5 of the Operations Manual, ensures that the promotion file of each candidate contains adequate documentation and that all prior levels of review have had opportunity to consider all materials in the file prior to forwarding the file to the President for action, adds to each adequately documented promotion file a committee evaluation and recommendation.

Tenure
Acts in accordance with the Tenure Policy as passed by the Faculty Senate and approved by the University Board of Trustees, ensures that the promotion file of each candidate contains adequate documentation and that all prior levels of review have had opportunity to consider all materials in the file prior to forwarding the file to the President for action, adds to each adequately documented promotion file a committee evaluation and recommendation.
