- My Small Business 101:
Dates: March 4th, 11th, 25th and April 1st
This class will be held on the Clarkson campus in BH Snell Hall, registration is required. The goal of MSB101 is to provide small business owners with knowledge and skills that can be immediately applied to their businesses, as well as to help them define longer term goals and focus on growth in key areas. - Idea Jam:
- Dates: January 29th, February 21st, March 14th, and April 18th
This is a workshop to help foster business ideas. It is aimed to promote creative brainstorming on how to bring your business idea to life! - Young Entrepreneur Competition:
Dates: Dates: March 1st
Aspiring Young Entrepreneurs and Young Innovators will submit an application which includes their completed business plan, a 90 second or less video that answers the question "Who am I, outside of my business?", and a brief description of their business. Entrants will be reviewed by the staff of the Reh and Shipley Centers and/or faculty with expertise related to the specific technology. This competition is a great opportunity and possesses the chance to receive help with tuition. Applications are due February 4th. The Clarkson Society for Professional Women is offering a three-hour workshop on salary negotiation on March 2 at 10am. Learn how to estimate the right salary for a job and how to negotiate with a prospective employer or employee. The workshop is offered in coordination with The WAGE Project and is sponsored by Clarkson’s Reh Center for Entrepreneurship. - Regional Business Plan Competition:

Clarkson University has partnered with SUNY Plattsburg to co-host the North Country regional competition over the next three years. This event is for undergraduate and graduate students. An application must be submitted by March 15th, for more information and to apply go to www.clarkson.edu/bplan. - Unique Selling Proposition:

This session will focus on developing your business' own unique selling proposition. Beginning with some general discussion about how a strong USP is developed and will then be followed by individual support. Attendees will leave the session with an established marketing message and guidance on how to best use the new tool. - Social Media:

This session will focus on developing your knowledge of social media and how it can help your business grow. This session will begin with some general set up on Facebook and Twitter and then will be followed by individual support. Attendees will leave the session with an understanding of social media presence for their business and how they can use it as a marketing strategy. - Entrepreneur Recognition Annual Dinner:

North Country small business owners and interested community members are invited to attend the event, which will recognize individuals for their commitment to and support of entrepreneurship. Awards will be given to the chosen entrepreneurs and some may be inducted into the Clarkson Alumni Entrepreneur Hall of Fame. - Getting the Most From Your Website:
Dates: Dates: April 22nd
This class will discuss ways of making minor website tweaks to things such as meta descriptions, keywords, page titles, alt and heading tags - all of which will help increase search engine results and viewer usability. In addition, you will discuss the search engine submission process, tools to measure effectiveness and Google Analytics. -
