Natural Resilience

About

Natural Resilience is an environmental nonprofit that connects universities and businesses to ecological restoration projects in the developing world. Natural Resilience will develop applied travel courses in sustainability where students and researchers help design climate adaptation plans with forest communities. The annual travel courses will act to monitor and measure the ecosystem services that result from the landscape restoration. University students can learn ecological business skills as they audit and measure carbon, monitor the restoration of watershed quality, contribute to the development of agro-forestry, and help communities transition to sustainable livelihoods. Local and affiliated businesses can invest in landscape restoration. A return on investment will be carbon sequestration. Businesses can potentially begin to acquire carbon offsets that can be cashed in on once carbon taxes become a reality.
