Mobile App Design Competition
Students across Clarkson’s campus demonstrate a great deal of talent and creativity. One way this is shown is through their development of mobile applications. Many students may not realize it, but designing an app and submitting it to the app stores to generate revenue is an entrepreneurial venture. We would like to display and reward these innovations. Come display your talents and creativity! Undergraduate and graduate students of any major are encouraged to enter our annual app design competition and share their ideas.
All entrants must design and submit a useful mobile application that meets the following criteria:
The app must be designed for either the Android (2.2 or later) or iOS (5 or later) platform. The interface must be user-friendly and aesthetically appealing. It must have the ability to generate revenue. Any additional features you deem necessary may also be included.
A folder will be created on Clarkson’s Shared Drive for app submissions. All entrants will save a completed and compiled app to the folder on the S: Drive before they present their submission. In order to gain access to this folder you will need to have registered for the competition. You will then present your app on a simulator to a panel of 3 judges. You will have ten minutes to explain the issue you are addressing and demonstrate the app. The judges will then have a week to review the saved submissions and notify the winners.
The judges will chose three winners for this competition based on the above criteria.
First place will receive $500
Second place will receive $200
Third place will receive $100
