Being a Digital Arts and Sciences major here at Clarkson University is without a doubt the most fun I’ve ever had in a learning environment. It’s a curriculum designed for students with big ideas, an artistic eye, and personal visions. Currently I am producing concept art for my portfolio, designing 3D character models and environments, programming a chess game in Java, leading the animation portion of a flash video game design team, and writing a work of fiction through my creative writing class. Digital Arts and Sciences is the conduit through which all my ideas take form and no other major at Clarkson University caters to the creative mind the way the DA&S major can. The classes designed for our major collectively employ every facet of the mind from mathematics and science to art and design and to appreciate it takes a person with a great passion for their craft and ideas. When it came time to enroll I had to make my choice, and when I look at the big picture, this is the best decision I’ve ever made concerning my eminent future. So to all the prospective freshmen knocking at Clarkson’s door, ask yourself these questions. Do you want your work to personally reflect who you are as an individual? Do you want to walk your own path paved by your creativity and ideas? Do you want an experience so unique and enriching you’ll actually say with a smile on your face “I’m going to class”? If you said yes to any of these questions you are a DA&S student at heart. When it comes time to enroll, defy convention and become a Digital Arts and Sciences major. You’ll have the time of your life.
