Since I was young, I have always been fascinated with the way things work, building, constructing and creating.  As I started my college selection process, I came to visit Clarkson because they had everything I wanted-engineering, alpine skiing and a small rural university somewhat close to home.   My mom and I came to visit and as soon as we drove into the entrance I knew that this was where I was meant to be.  After my first semester in a rigorous engineering schedule, I realized that maybe engineering really isn’t what I am supposed to do.  I went to visit the Student Support Center and they told me about this new up and coming major, Digital Arts & Sciences.  I really had no idea what I was getting myself into, but I decided to take some of the creative classes they offered.  I really enjoyed my new found major because it offered the benefits of creativity backed up with science and mathematics.  It really offered me the best of both worlds.  I continued on and even though it was still a rigorous workload, I have now a newfound love for Clarkson and learning.  Ultimately, it was the best academic choice I have ever made.
