Clarkson University
Why We Give
Summary of Gifts and Grants
Received July 1, 2011 – June 30, 2012
Alumni, friends and parents of Clarkson are increasingly supporting Clarkson
through the Evolution to Excellence (E
2
E) Campaign. In fiscal year 2011,
giving by individuals totaled $6,542,014, but that was handily surpassed last fiscal year
(ending June 30, 2012) as gifts from individuals totaled $8,084,197, a 23% increase! Add in
grants from corporations and other organizations, and charitable gift support of Clarkson in
FY12 totaled $11,459,445, a 16% increase over FY11, and the fourth highest year on record!
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, faculty, students and the entire Clarkson community,
our collective gratitude goes out to the thousands of donors who invested in Clarkson in
FY12! As our students see their educational and
campus living experiences improve because of
your support, their own sense of gratitude toward
Clarkson develops, firmly underpinning their lifetime
alumni relationship with Clarkson.
Now online! 2012 Donor Report

“It is our role as parents to teach
our children to contribute to
Clarkson’s future. We all share a
stake in the ultimate value of a
Clarkson education.”
David Reh ’62
“I will always honor Clarkson —
what it has meant to me — and
what it will continue to mean to
me. This is where I was welcomed
into a community that opened up
the world for me … this is where
I found the intellectual stimulation
and encouragement I needed from
great teachers and friends
.
Mary Konecnik ’10, ’11
“Clarkson gave me a head start on
my career and allowed me to make
lifelong friends from around the
world. That's why Clarkson’s young
alumni program, (YOU)KNIGHT, is
important to me. As a recent grad,
I enjoy reciprocating the same
generosity that prior alumni made
possible by giving to The Clarkson
Fund.”

unrestricted gifts to The Clarkson Fund deliver
immediate results and enhanced possibilities
for today’s students.
Since the E

Campaign began in
fiscal year 2004, giving
to The Clarkson Fund is
89 percent higher. The
