Research & Laboratory Safety
The Chemical Hygiene Plan is a document that conforms with OSHA's Occupational Exposure to Hazardous Chemicals in Laboratories standard (29 CFR 1910.1450) and specifies the policies, procedures and responsibilities that Clarkson University has put in place to protect workers from the health hazards associated with the hazardous chemicals used in the workplace.
MSDSonline is Clarkson University's electronic chemical inventory and safety data sheet (SDS) management system. Data is organized by lab location.
Every time a new chemical is ordered or moved into your lab, information associated with the product shall be submitted through the Chemical Inventory Update Form. This will provide the necessary information for the Department of Environmental Health & Safety to update and maintain Clarkson University's MSDSonline.
Biological safety is responsible for the control of health hazards related to biological agents within the University community. Programs implementing University policy have been established to protect the health and safety of students, faculty, staff and meet regulatory requirements that are required by OSHA, CDC, and NIH. Biological safety programs have been established to provide a central registry of potentially hazardous microbial agents, animals and other hazardous biologicals, oversight of recombinant DNA activities, surveillance and certification of biological safety cabinets and laminar flow benches and to control exposures to bloodborne pathogens.RADIOLOGICAL SAFETY
