Communication & Media

Dylan Tucker, Junior

Dylan TuckerI have always been interested in video work, and after a semester of aeronautical engineering, I decided that it was time to do what I loved, rather than what the admissions office suggested. This was when I switched my major to Communication and Media. I’ve since taken classes in areas such as video production, web design, digital imaging, marketing, and rhetoric.

During the summer of 2006, I had an internship working for the State of New York Office of Parks Recreation and Historic Preservation. I traveled all over New York State while producing videos of state owned Historic Sites.  The purpose of these videos was to bring the various historic sites, which are not fully handicapped accessible into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities act.

I also co-own a freestyle skiing video production company called Tuckered Out Films.  I created it in 2004 with Max Dougherty, a fellow Clarkson student. We have since received sponsorship from various companies within the ski industry, traveled all over the country, released our first full length video in the fall of 2006, and continue our work for a film that will be released in the fall of 2007.
