Communications & Media

Stefanie Tornow, Senior

Stefanie TornowI came to Clarkson wanting to be an engineer, but after a year of classes and looking ahead to a future of strict classes that didn't appeal to me at all, I decided to pursue my creative side and my love of Photography. Thats how I ended up in Communications & Media and it was the best choice I have made yet.

This major allowed me to get a diverse education, having foundations in communication classes, engineering, math, science, computer science, and business. Part of the major includes having a concentration in a seperate field, this allowed me to receive a minor in Psychology. While here I've done website design, video editing, graphic design, and much more.

Besides a wide variety of classes, I've had the opportunity to take learning beyond the classroom. A few classes included doing work for an outside client. During the summer of 2006 I had an internship on campus designing and building a website with a few other students. The department holds a student film fest every semester and the fall semester of 2006 I had the chance to put the whole event together! I've done work for the Department itself and I really feel at home here.
