Communications & Media
I came to Clarkson with a creative mind, but did not know where to apply it. I started in Computer Science and then found Communication & Media, a place where I could release my creativity and have people see it. I am leaving my footprint all over campus whether it is in web design, graphic design, print work, or being involved in activities around campus.
During the summer of 2006, I worked for IBM in Austin, Texas. I have done work for the Communication & Media department as well as Sports Information, and various clubs on campus. Interested in journalism? I regularly write for the Clarkson Integrator; Clarkson's student-run newspaper. Want to be a leader? I am the President of both SPECTURM, a cultural-minded service organization, and Gemini, the creative writing club which I founded in 2005.
Interested in things other than the Communication & Media courses offered? Then make your own! I have done many independent studys–you may take the course multiple times focusing on different projects or continuing one large project–ranging from working in the recording studio, researching media representations of nano technology, or continuing corporate work for IBM for credit and continued real-world experience.
