Communication & Media
When I began college in 2003, I was dead set on being in the Engineering program. After a year I decided it was not right for me. After looking for a new major, it came to my attention that there was a great program here called Technical Communications, now known as Communication and Media. I wanted to concentrate more on the web aspect of this major, so I decided to go with Information Systems as my concentration.
Since the department has very few professors compared to other departments, it has provided a comfortable atmosphere to learn in, knowing that every professor is always there to help. I have gained much experience in a wide variety of things from all my classes and have used this experience outside of the classroom. I have helped with the recording of a North Country Matters segment, helped at WCKN (the campus television station), and became the webmaster of the Clarkson University Outing Club.
The Communication and Media program has provided me with many skills and experiences that are valuable to me for the job world. Its broad range of skills and experiences will open up many doors for me in the future.
