Clarkson has many services to help you with your collegiate life. These services are for both academic and personal help. For further information see the Counseling Center Pamphlet.
Student Administrative Services (SAS)
This center is located in the Cubley-Reynolds annex and combines the former Bursar's, Registrar's, and Financial Assistance offices. The center provides information on enrollment, financial aid, course schedules, student employment, and many other topics. You can also pay bills, order transcripts, correct personal data, pick up and drop off various academic and financial aid forms, etc. The phone number for SAS is 268-6472
Counseling Center
The Counseling Center (located in the second floor of Price Hall, Thomas Entrance) can offer counseling, workshops and seminars. Topics for the workshops and seminars include, for example: time management, understanding your personality, long-distance relationships, stress control, alcohol and drug awareness, and dealing with shyness. Student Development Center
Housed within the Student Development Center, on the second floor of Price Hall (Ormsby Entrance), are two programs serving Clarkson students. These are "Student Support Services" and the "Office of Educational Development." For appointments or further information on these services, call 268-3881.
Student Health Center
This facility is located in the Holcroft House. It provides out-patient services, emergency care, health screening, and health counseling and education. For further information, see the Clarkson Catalog, call 268-6633.
Writing Center
Peer tutoring is provided for students who need help with writing assignments. The center is located in the CEC, Room 139 on the first floor of Bertrand. H. Snell Hall, and the phone number is 268-4439.
Foreign Student Advising
Foreign Student Advising is available on the second floor of Price Hall. The service includes orientation and special advising for such topics as visa, status requirements, and work regulations. For further information on this service or an appointment call 268-7970.
Extracurricular Activities
Potsdam offers many extracurricular activities. The Associated Colleges of the St. Lawrence Valley publishes a calendar of "Special Events" every month. This and other local publications list lectures, concerts, seminars, club meetings, professional societies, sports, movies, etc. that are going on in the area. Student organizations at Clarkson hold an Activities Fair each fall to gain publicity and recruit enthusiastic new members. Chemical Engineering majors are urged to participate in student clubs both for relaxation and to gain leadership experience.
