Admission to graduate study is on a merit basis. The applicant must have received a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and must have achieved an excellent academic record.
International applicants should submit a TOEFL score; a score of 550 (213 on the computer-based test) or higher is required. Applicants are required to take the Graduate Record Examinations. All international students for whom English is a second language are required to take an ESL placement exam when they arrive at Clarkson and complete any resulting requirements.
All admissions must be approved by the Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering and by the Dean of the School of Engineering. If the applicant requests financial aid, the recommended application deadlines are January 31 for the fall semester, which begins in late August, and October 15 for the spring semester, which begins in January.
