Meet Kelly (Hughes) Clawson '99
"A Solid Foundation in the Fundamentals"
Kelly (Hughes) Clawson '99 experienced summer research programs sponsored by Clarkson as a middle and high school student in upstate New York. Her interest in both engineering and Clarkson was sparked long before she became an undergraduate.
Since graduation, Kelly has worked as a geotechnical engineer and has been challenged with work on dams, landfills, tunnels, roadways and environmental site remediation projects.
In 2005, Kelly joined Froehling & Robertson, Inc. (F&R), a family-owned engineering and construction materials testing firm with over 125 years of service. She was recently named the manager of F&R's Baltimore, Maryland, branch.
"My experience at Clarkson gave me a solid foundation in the fundamentals that continues to help me to learn and grow as an engineer every day," Kelly says.
