Go Golden Knights! Join in Clarkson’s competitive tradition through 20 men's and women's varsity teams, along with numerous intramural and club sports and a wide variety of fitness classes and organized outdoor activities. More than 80 percent of Clarkson students join intramural teams competing in soccer, football, broomball, 3-on-3 basketball, 5-on-5 basketball, ice hockey, volleyball and indoor soccer. Student Award Recipients

		Mark Bayer Arthur L. Straub Memorial Award - This award was established in l976 in honor of Professor Arthur L. Straub, a member of the Clarkson faculty from l956 to 1976. The recipient is a senior civil and environmental engineering student who possesses the qualities of professional maturity, scholastic ability and involvement in extracurricular activities.
		Jon Thomas The Charles Martin Clark Memorial Prize - Established in l946 by Mr. Clarks's associates on the Board of Water Supply of the City of New York. The recipient is a senior Civil & Environmental engineering student of outstanding scholarship and character, possessing qualifications required for a successful professional career.
		Chelsey Kniffen Civil & Environmental Engineering Award for Writing - This award was established in 1998 by the faculty of the department. The recipient is a civil and environmental engineering major who has exhibited superior performance through the Writing Across the Curriculum Program.
		Jared Best The George A Gray Endowed Fellowship - Established in l995 by George A. Gray '43 to recognize outstanding scholarship and achievement by a first year graduate student in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Clarkson. Dr. Gray earned his Ph.D. degree from Yale University and taught at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University for many years.

		Erin Lennox The Keith M. Russ Civil & Environmental Engineering Award - Presented annually to juniors exhibiting outstanding academic performance with additional consideration for service to the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, the University and/or the community.
		Benjamin Zwierlein The Keith M. Russ Civil & Environmental Engineering Award - Presented annually to juniors exhibiting outstanding academic performance with additional consideration for service to the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, the University and/or the community.
		Milani Sumanasooriya Outstanding Teaching Award for Graduate Students in Civil & Environmental Engineering - This award is presented to a full-time graduate student who has demonstrated outstanding ability as a teaching assistant in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering.
		Michael Baron The Norbert L. Ackermann Award Fund for the 2012-2013 academic year, recognizes you as a student majoring in Civil and Environmental Engineering with the greatest promise for academic success.
