Dairy Farmers Interviews and Surveys

In collaboration with Dr. Gilbert W. Gillespie and graduate assistant Megan Gremelspacher of the Cornell University Development Sociology Department, New York State dairy farmers who have installed ADCG systems have been interviewed about their experiences and motivations.  Interview results are being used to construct and implement a survey of North Country dairy farmers to measure their knowledge of, and attitudes about, ADCG systems as well as the determinants of the relative propensity to install this technology. The interview and survey results will be used to help develop the optimization tool discussed above and to keep it grounded in farmers’ practical needs.
