Outgoing Exchange Students
Let Clarkson be your launching point for a life-changing global experience. We have formal study abroad exchange agreements with numerous colleges and universities in multiple countries. Spend a semester or full academic year living and learning in a stimulating and challenging new environment. Wherever you go, you will return home with an enlightened new perspective of yourself and the world.
What is an exchange?
An exchange means that you don’t have to apply for admission directly to the foreign college or university. Our exchange partners agree to accept Clarkson students who meet the academic policies set in place for the program. An exchange also means that you continue to pay regular Clarkson tuition and receive Clarkson financial aid.
Credit & Graduation
Clarkson makes it easy to study abroad and still earn credit toward graduation. Your academic advisor can help you research the course offerings at your top choices to make sure they match your Clarkson curriculum. Credits earned abroad will be considered transfer credit and will be added to your Clarkson transcript. A grade equivalent to a "C" or better will receive credit.
We encourage you to start your study abroad research early. Visit the Career Center and let us help you find the programs that best match your academics, interests and career goals. Attend the Study Abroad Exchange Fair and information sessions during the fall semester. Meet with your academic advisor and talk about the best time to go abroad. Most students plan to go abroad during their Junior year. The Career Center can even connect you with other Clarkson students and alumni who studied at your top choices. Contact us today!
