Incidents, criminal actions and other emergencies on campus can be directly reported to Campus Safety & Security by dialing campus extension x6666, 24/7. In addition to using a room or office phone, individuals may report incidents/crimes by using one of the 19 house phones available throughout the residential facilities.
There is also an emergency blue light phone system. The University has installed 11 emergency phones strategically located on the hill campus. The phones provide rapid push button contact with emergency response 24 hours a day. Upon receipt of a call, a Campus Safety & Security Officer is dispatched to the site of the complaint where appropriate action may be initiated. Formal incident reports are routinely completed when incidents are reported. These reports are regularly shared with civil authorities and university officials and often result in referral for campus discipline or other such action. If an individual wishes to meet directly with local police and or report a crime, Campus Safety & Security will typically encourage such a meeting and help to affect it.
