Orientation
And Here You Are
So, you're just lifting a suitcase out of your car's trunk when a guy and a girl show up to offer a hand. They and others you don't even know help carry all the stuff you've brought from home right into your room. Surprised? You shouldn't be. This is the Clarkson community in action. And at Orientation you'll begin to realize on a personal level what it means to be part of that community.
Orientation at Clarkson is really one big crash course that covers just about everything, given all over campus by just about everybody — students, professors and staff members. Who? What? When? Where? Why? Don't worry. Someone will be there to answer every question, whether it's about courses, books, finances, housing, dining, work or play. You'll get to know your roommates, classmates, your academic advisor and other members of the Clarkson community.
Your personal Clarkson mentor and guide during Orientation (and for your whole first year) will be your Residence Advisor (aka RA). Your RA, an upperclass student who lives right on your floor, is specially trained to assist you and your floor mates in every way.
You will feel at home even before you start your first class at Clarkson.
