CAMP Director S.V. Babu is Honored with a Visiting Professorship by the Chinese Academy of Sciences during a Recent Visit
CAMP Director and Distinguished University Professor S.V. Babu has been honored with a Visiting Professorship (for Senior International Scientists) by the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Shanghai. He has been invited to contribute to a special program being led by Professor Zhitang Song (Director of the Laboratory of Nano Technology, SIMIT, Chinese National Academy of Sciences in Shanghai), to accelerate slurry development for planarizing Si and other wafer substrates. CAMP Professors are Partners in General Electric Co. Award by NY-BESTTM
The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) announced (in Troy on March 10, 2010) that it will award $8 million to help develop or commercialize 19 cutting-edge energy storage projects. These projects will strengthen New York's standing as a national leader in the energy storage industry and help build New York's clean energy economy for the future.
Speaking in Troy at a meeting of the New York Battery and Energy Storage Technology (NY-BESTTM), a consortium created by Governor David Paterson to support New York's energy storage industry, Francis J. Murray, Jr., NYSERDA president and CEO said: "Creating more advanced energy storage technologies is essential for us to achieve substantial reductions in our greenhouse gas emissions and energy use. The proposals will demonstrate New York's leadership in energy technology, stimulate world-class research and development, and commercialize products that will help build a clean energy economy and create jobs for the future."
