79th ACS Colloid and Surface Science Symposium

ADVANCED NANOSTRUCTURED MATERIALS: SMART COLLOIDS AND NANOPARTICLES. RESPONSIVE SURFACES AND THIN FILMS

The symposium plans to review recent results on the synthesis and study of nanostructured polymer and colloidal systems designed to respond to external stimuli in a controlled and predictable manner: thin films, patterned surfaces, polymer brushes, macromolecules of special architecture, polyelectrolytes, supramolecular associates, polymer - nano/colloidal particles composites. Design of materials with "smart" or "intelligent" behavior is of special interest (MEMS, microfluidic devices, switching of transport and separation, switching of viscosity, wetting, adsorption, and adhesion).
