Professor Atesoglu received his Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Atesoglu held a Fulbright Senior Professor Research Grant for a year at the Kiel Institute of World Economics in Germany while on sabbatical leave from Clarkson University. In a subsequent sabbatical he taught money and banking at San Diego State University. Before joining Clarkson he served as an Economist at the International Monetary Fund, Washington D.C. Dr. Atesoglu teaches courses in money and banking, and econometrics. Dr. Atesoglu is listed in Who's Who in America.
Professor Atesoglu's research interests are in balance-of-payments and economic growth, defense spending and growth, and money and inflation. Dr. Atesoglu has more than 50 scholarly publications including those in The Journal of Monetary Economics, The Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Money Credit and Banking, Southern Economic Journal, Journal of Macroeconomics, Weltwirtschaftliches Archiv, Kredit und Kapital, Review of International Economics, Applied Economics, Journal of Post Keynesian Economics, Defence and Peace Economics, Strategic Review, and The American Political Science Review.
