Lawrence J. Delaney '57, '58
Clarkson alumni Lawrence J. Delaney '57, '58 of Potomac, Maryland and James Milde '83 of Katonah, New York, have been elected to the Clarkson University Board of Trustees.
Delaney is a senior executive with more than 40 years of international experience in high technology program acquisition, management and engineering. Dr. Delaney is currently executive vice president, Operations, and president of Advanced Systems Development Sector, Titan Corporation.
He also held the position of chief information officer of the Air Force and from January 20 until June 1, 2001, Dr. Delaney served as acting secretary of the Air Force. He completed his public service on July 31, 2001, as acting undersecretary of the Air Force.
In 1997, Dr. Delaney founded Delaney Group Inc., a technical and business consulting firm and served as president. Additionally, Dr. Delaney, who is fluent in German, was managing director, BDM Europe, the European holding company for BDM International Inc., where he was corporate vice president.
He received both a bachelor's and master's degree in chemical engineering from Clarkson and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.

James Milde '83
Milde is vice president and chief information officer of Sony Electronics Inc. Milde oversees and has responsibility for all facets of information technology at Sony, including e-commerce and internal IT strategy, business unit consulting, systems delivery and technology services.
Prior to joining Sony, Milde held strategic management positions at Pepsi and Bertelsmann AG, a major media and entertainment company. While at the Pepsi Cola Company and the Pepsi Bottling Group, he developed and implemented an overall Information Technology strategy and built a world class IT organization that has developed leading-edge IT enabled solutions to support business strategies. Milde also has significant experience with emerging technologies, including CRM/application software solutions, mobile computing, data warehousing and electronic commerce incentives.
He earned a master of business administration from Clarkson University in 1983 and holds a bachelor of arts degree in Economics and Finance from St. Lawrence University.
