Plan Ahead For Reunion 2009

Stay With Us in a Residence Hall
Many past participants tell us the most fun of the weekend is staying on campus. We try our best to house reunion classes and special reunion groups together so you can keep the conversations going even after your planned activities.

Please make reservations early!

Residence hall housing is available Thursday, Friday and Saturday for everyone. Please remember that all rooms have shared bathrooms, not private facilities. Bring sleeping bags for your children, and they may stay in your room at no extra charge. Please bring a crib or other special equipment if needed.

If you'd prefer other accommodations please visit the St. Lawrence County Chamber Web site for a list of Bed & Breakfasts, Hotels, Motels, Campgrounds, etc.  Feel free to contact the Alumni Office by phone (315) 268-6467 or e-mail reunion@clarkson.edu if you have additional questions.

What to Pack?
Casual attire - dress comfortably for the weather and your lifestyle - sports or leisure clothes are satisfactory for all activities. Jackets and ties are not required at any event. Don't forget your bathing suits, as the temperatures during reunion for the past several years have been in the high 80s. Also remember your ice skates, because the ice will be down in Cheel Arena for open skating and class broomball games. Truly, a weekend with something for everyone!

Linens and a small bar of soap are provided in the room; however, you may wish to bring extra soap and towels for larger families or to suit your needs. Rooms ARE NOT air conditioned, so please remember to bring a fan (or two!) for your own personal comfort. Additional items should include an alarm clock, mirror, and possibly lawn chairs. Remember, some of your classmates are traveling by air and won't have room for these items. If you have space, bring extra for your friends.

Getting Here
Directions to the Reunion Registration Area:
From Route 11 (North) - Turn right at the main campus entrance. Turn at the second right, which is the parking lot in front of Cheel. Cheel Campus Center will be straight ahead. Look for the "Welcome Alumni" banner.

From Route 56 (North) - Proceed down Pierrepont Avenue past Potsdam State. Go through the two traffic lights. At the second light, turn left (Main Street) and go through one traffic light over the Fall Island Bridges. At the light on Maple and Clarkson Avenues, turn right, then an immediate left at the light. Take the first left onto campus; follow the signs to the Cheel Campus Center, which will be on your right. Look for the "Welcome Alumni" banner.

Registration
Immediately upon arrival, all alumni, including those staying off-campus, are asked to report to the Registration Desk on the first floor of the Cheel Campus Center. Name tags, meal tickets, finalized schedules, room keys, and your complete reunion packet will be ready for pick-up. Also, you will find an up-to-date list of returning classmates and a message bulletin center.

Remember - registration and check-in will be much easier if you've pre-paid; there may be a lengthy line of people waiting to pay upon their arrival.

The Registration Desk is open until 11 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and until 9 p.m. on
Saturday.

For Arrivals After 11:00 p.m.
Go directly to the Cheel Campus Center. Call Campus Safety (ext. 6666) on the red campus
phone located across from the information desk near the restrooms.

If you would like to alert Campus Safety of your arrival after hours from a car or cell phone,
please dial (315) 268-6666.

Recreational Vehicles
Clarkson does not have a camping facility; however, we do accommodate a recreational
vehicle's overnight stay by supplying a parking space in the Cheel Campus Center lower
parking lot. This paved area has no electrical hookup. RVs must be self-contained units.
