The Gateway

In this Section
Were you a Clarkson student living in the "New Dorms" when they were actually new in the 1960s? Where are you now? Have you been back to campus recently? Have you met any recent Clarkson graduates or current students?
For so many current students who walk the campus, the history of Clarkson takes the form of open questions: Why do we chant "Let's go Tech" at hockey games? Why do we call them the "New Dorms?" What are those campus buildings downtown?

In 2009, Clarkson's Alumni Association set out to provide a place for all to obtain the answers to these questions and more. To build a gateway to Clarkson's rich history for current students and alumni, alike, to enjoy and revel in.
The Alumni Gateway, at the entrance to the new Student Center, was officially opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, October 23rd, 2010 (see photos of the ribbon cutting here). Photos of each display are in the archived links on the left.
We now have the opportunity to publically display artifacts and memorabilia spanning the history of Clarkson, while recognizing past and present Woodstock and Golden Knight award recipients. The space is in an extremely high traffic area in the middle of campus, facilitating continuous interaction and presenting a good opportunity to provide impact through changing displays on a regular basis.

We continue to collect memorabilia to enhance the exhibit options for the Gateway. If you are interested in contributing memorabilia or have an idea for a display, please feel free to contact the Alumni Office at 315-268-6467 or email

We also welcome donations to our endowment. Donations can be made online here by using "Alumni Gateway" as the gift designation. We thank you for your continued support.
