Marc S. Compeau
Marc Compeau, Director of the Reh Center for Entrepreneurship at the Clarkson University School of Business, drives the strategy of the Entrepreneurship Center, delivers the cornerstone course, My Small Business 101, works with affiliated faculty and staff to increase engagement and visibility of the Center, and assists individual entrepreneurs.
After growing up in Binghamton, N.Y. Marc headed to Northern New York for an education and never went back. Weeks after completing his bachelor degree at Potsdam College in Industrial Labor Relations in 1989 Marc opened his first business.
In 2000, after several successful start-up ventures and two patents Marc completed his Masters degree in Management at Clarkson University and joined the faculty of the School of Business as the instructor of the introductory business course. In 2002 Marc was appointed as the Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Clarkson, a program that was twice a finalist for undergraduate entrepreneurship program of the year and was ranked #22 in the nation in 2006 by Entrepreneur Magazine. In 2010 Marc was appointed the Director of the Reh Entrepreneurship Center at Clarkson.
Currently Marc teaches courses in Innovation & Entrepreneurship, including the popular first year, two-semester course, Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation, where students work in groups to create and manage their own real-world business and he writes a column on Mom and Pop entrepreneurs for Forbes.com. He has also spoken about customer service across the country.
