Advising & Mentoring
Collaboration isn't only for classes. If you are successful, then Clarkson is successful. That's why we want to provide you with all of the resources you need. That includes helping you adjust to the life of a college student. All first-year students have, in addition to their faculty advisor, access to a "first-year" advisor who works with them toward making satisfactory academic progress and personal adjustment. First-year students will typically have some concerns during the year, whether with stress, roommates, the change of environment to college life, or academic uncertainty.
The First-Year Advising Center works closely with academic departments, as well as the Student and Community Affairs Division, which consists of Residence Life, Campus Safety, Accommodative Services, First-Year Seminar, Tutoring Services, Greek Life, Student Development, Counseling and the Career Center.
The Center acts as a facilitator for first-year students who might not know where to go for assistance. Students should feel free to stop by the First-Year Advising Center in Price Hall Room 106 or call the Center at 268-3948.
